SDA is routinely involved in the entire design process, from brainstorming with stakeholders through system commissioning and data monitoring.

Company president Steven Strong takes a hands-on approach to development, collaborating with all interested parties in a school community as part of the planning process:
  • Developing strategies for carbon-neutral campuses
  • Consulting on options for solar electric, solar thermal and wind power
  • Assisting with bid proposals, including scope definition and acceptance testing criteria
  • Overseeing systems installation to assure performance quality

Solar Design Associates:
we're passionate about furthering principles of sustainable design, both to preserve the environment and to educate the young about the promise of a better future.
That's why we are always interested in new school and college projects that serve many constituents and purposes.

Greening the Campus

Students have often initiated a groundswell of campus interest in energy-conscious buildings and renewable-energy use. Their passion and persistence have motivated administrators to consider the benefits of greening the campus. In our experience, it's always been a wise decision.

Not only does the campus gain an energy-efficient building that's environmentally cool, but there is often a multiplier effect. Prospective students and faculty are attracted to a campus that manifests a visible commitment to sustainability. And energy-conscious buildings become a source of pride for alumni, staff and trustees.
